Marilù Porchia is a PhD candidate in International and European Law at the University of Ferrara and a research fellow at the University of Tuscia. She graduated in Law from the University of Bologna in 2016. During her studies she also studied at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Sevilla (Spain, 2016); at the UFRGS Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Allegre (Brazil, 2014); at the Dickinson College, Center for European Studies, Bologna (Italy, 2014). After graduating, she worked at the Indo-American Refugee and Migrant Organisation in London and at a law firm specialised in migration and human rights in Rome. She was admitted to the Italian Bar in 2018. She has worked as a legal adviser specialising in international protection for the European Union Asylum Agency (EUAA) and Save the Children, among others. Her research focuses on asylum law, detention of migrants, torture prevention mechanisms, access to justice and human rights. She has contributed to international conferences in Italy and abroad, both on public international law and on European law. Among them are:
